Julia Baker, BVMS, DipRCPath, MRCVS has been working in the fields of toxicologic and diagnostic pathology for over 25 years. Julia trained as a veterinarian at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and earned a reputation as a respected ocular pathologist while working in the United Kingdom and in her own laboratory in Portugal. In 2007, Julia joined the Charles River facility in Frederick and she has since acted as study pathologist on several studies involving stem cell-derived therapeutics in the eye. Julia is a member of the Executive Board of the International Society of Ocular Toxicology, and also serves on the Global Executive Steering Committee of the INHAND project and chairs the INHAND Special Senses organ working group. Her work has appeared in The Pathologist, and her recent peer-reviewed studies have been published in Toxicologic Pathology, Journal of Toxicologic Pathology, and Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology. Julia is also an accomplished artist, specializing in convergent media art. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of her art is going to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
