Rebecca Jarvis

Rebecca Jarvis, PhD, is a Group Leader in Medicinal Chemistry within Early Discovery, in Cambridge UK, currently working on Huntington’s disease. Prior to joining Charles River’s BioFocus site 10 years ago, Rebecca worked for five years at Merck as a research chemist working on ion channels for CNS indications. She earned her doctoral degree in synthetic chemistry from the University of Cambridge, where she also did her undergraduate studies. Her recent peer-reviewed articles have been published in Journal of Medicinal Chemistry,  ACS Medicinal Chemistry Letters and Organic Letters.  Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys running, cooking and hanging out with her kids.


In Nanoscopic Detail

The 2014 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Eric Betzig, Stefan W. Hell and William E. Moerner, for surpassing the perceived theoretical limit of resolution in optical microscopy.
