Zachary Zimmermann, PhD
Research Scientist, Neurobehavioral Sciences
Zach has been with the neurobehavioral sciences department at the Mattawan site for four years, with a focus on drug abuse liability assessments. He earned his PhD in Behavioral Psychology from Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, MI) while actively engaged in nonclinical research on basic behavioral learning processes and assessing drug interactions using traditional nonclinical abuse liability assays. He has served as both study director and scientific consultant for numerous CRL clients. In his four-year tenure, he has also first-authored four journal articles and co-authored 22 others appearing in peer-reviewed scientific journals on the topics of behavior analysis, behavioral pharmacology, abuse liability, safety pharmacology, and ototoxicity. Zach enjoys spending his free time traveling and hiking.
