Genes That Sway Coronavirus
In most infectious diseases, there are always people who get sicker while others barely show symptoms. COVID-19 is no different. Some people who contract the pandemic virus die while others barely show symptoms. What's going on? A study conducted by the University of Edinburgh may have found one of the reasons why this is occurring. In a study of more than 2,200 patients the scientists identified pinned down common gene variants linked to the most severe form of the disease, and that point to existing drugs that can be repurposed to help.
