Meet Our New Senior Fellow in DART

Isabelle LeconteWe are pleased to welcome Isabelle Leconte as our new Senior Fellow in DART. She returns to Charles River Laboratories after more than a decade in the industry to strengthen further our leading DART team in Lyon, France.

Following a master’s degree in toxicology, Isabelle started her career as Head of Genetic and Cellular Toxicology at what is now our facility at Lyon les Oncins, moving on to become a study director in General, Reproductive & Developmental Toxicology at the site. She left the facility to take up a role as Head of Toxicology at Pierre Fabre Médicament and later moved on to roles as the Head of Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology at Sanofi-Synthelabo, a nonclinical project leader at Sanofi-Aventis, and a program manager at Covance Laboratories before becoming a senior toxicologist in DART at Bayer.

Isabelle is a Senior Fellow and EUROTOX-registered toxicologist with over 27 years of professional experience in developmental and reproductive toxicology and 10 years leading nonclinical projects. She is member of the Teratology Society and the European Teratology Society, a council member of the ILSI HESI DART Technical Committee, and is the General Secretary of the French Society of Toxicology (EUROTOX society). Over the years, she has actively participated in different international and European working groups, in the organization of workshops and congresses, and in the development of new in vitro models for DART. She is also author/co-author of several publications and regularly teaches DART as part of a masters course at Paris XI University and CEFIRA.
