Dr. Robert (Bob) Dunn recently joined Charles River as Senior Director of Toxicology at the Charles River Massachusetts site. He received his PhD from Saint Louis University and completed postdoctoral training with Professor Curtis Klaassen at the University of Kansas. He later joined Phase-1 Molecular Toxicology in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he worked in the Client Services division as a study director serving clients in North America, Europe, and Asia. Following time in the Investigative Toxicology group at Pharmacia in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dr. Dunn then moved to Amgen in Thousand Oaks, California. There, he took on various leadership roles in the investigative and discovery toxicology laboratories, as well as a safety science representative on project teams supporting neuroscience, metabolism, and inflammation/oncology. In his 14 years at Amgen, he championed efforts in scientific outreach to local universities in Southern California, completing a three-year visiting professorship at UCLA, and giving numerous lectures on toxicology to graduate students and postdocs at UCLA, UCSB, CalTech, and USC. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Dunn, who will lead the expanding toxicology efforts at Charles River Massachusetts to ensure the delivery quality science in safety assessment for novel therapeutic candidates.
