Infusion Pumps for Continuous Dosing of Laboratory Animals
ALZET® Osmotic Pumps offer specific advantages over repeated animal dosing by injection or oral gavage, such as:
- Continuous delivery, eliminating peak and trough fluctuations
- Test agent effects develop fully and are easily reproduced, which is particularly advantageous for agents with short half-lives
- Reduction in animal stress that can develop from frequent handling
