In North America and Europe, Charles River can implant ALZET® Osmotic Pumps as well as other telemetry devices as part of our surgery services.

  • BY STUDY DESIGN

    There are 12 models of ALZET® Osmotic Pumps in 3 physical sizes, and a variety of release rates and durations*. Dosage variability can be achieved by modifying agent concentration; duration can be extended by serial implantation of the pumps.

    * Lot Specific Performance Data: The nominal performance is a target for all pumps manufactured. Individual lots of pumps may vary from this target within limits. The actual pumping rate and fill volume of a particular lot (derived by statistical testing) are listed on the top of the instruction sheet included with the pumps.

  • BY ANIMAL & DELIVERY METHOD

    The minimum animal size estimates for Implantation of ALZET® Osmotic Pumps are based on experience with male Sprague Dawley rats and Swiss Webster mice. When using the pumps with other strains or genders, these guidelines should be modified accordingly.
