About the Speaker: Abi Marklew
Abi received her PhD from Newcastle University (UK) and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (USA) in 2016 looking at the effects of cigarette smoke on CFTR. This was followed by a collaborative postdoc with the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Nivalis Therapeutics assessing CFTR modulators for the treatment of cystic fibrosis. Abi joined Charles River in 2017 at their Cambridge, UK site where she has been working as a scientist in their ion channel team. In this role, Abi has developed multiple ion channel assays on the Sophion Qube, with a focus on ligand-gated channels.
