Carlos’ area of expertise is ion channel biophysics and cardiac physiology. He and colleagues at ChanTest have been part of the CiPA initiative since its conception in 2013, designing and evaluating new voltage protocols with colleagues in the industry, academy and the FDA, validating stem cell-derived cardiomyocyte assays, and testing in silico models. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degree in the field of neurophysiology from the University of Buenos Aires in 1979. He conducted his post-doctoral training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland where he remained as a Senior Research Associate and Instructor until joining ChanTest in 2010.
