Tuulia Huhtala, PhD
Senior Manager Laboratory Services
Tuulia Huhtala, PhD, currently works as Senior Manager, Laboratory Services at Charles River Discovery Services, Finland. She received her MSc and PhD in the University of Eastern Finland, specialized in bioscientific chemistry. Her primary scientific background is how to apply nuclear imaging solutions in drug development related to CNS and oncological research. Besides imaging, she has wide scientific experience in disease models and ex vivo bioassays e.g. IHC, autoradiography and well-plate technologies. She has contributed over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals. In 2011 she joined to CR and established nuclear imaging facility, 2017 the team was merged with biomarker and since 2022 she’s been overseeing Laboratory Sciences unit. In addition to scientific contribution, she’s experienced in operational management, people leading and work safety. Salukis amuse her everyday life outside the working hours!
