Potential for Personalized Pancreatic Cancer Vaccine

In a recent paper in Nature, researchers published findings on a potential personalized mRNA vaccine for patients who have undergone surgery for pancreatic cancer. The vaccine is still years away from general availability, but the results so far have been promising.

The 16 patient study saw half of the participants have strong immune responses to the vaccine, and those patients remained cancer free for longer than the patients without strong response.

The vaccine demonstrated the ability to train T cells to recognize and respond to cancer cells, even up to three years later.
