The oncology preclinical study planning toolkit is designed to accelerate your speed to clinic, by providing you with instant access to study pricing, cancer model data, and connection to our oncology specialists, so that you feel supported on your oncology efficacy journey, because every moment matters.
How it works
1. Browse cancer models
Start with a more focused study design by selecting the optimal tumor model from our Cancer Model Database.
Filter for specific histologies, model metadata, and molecular properties like gene expression, mutations, and copy number variations.
2. Calculate your study price
The Oncology Study Price Calculator provides an instant price range for in vitro, in vivo oncology, and DMPK studies.
Customize your study options to fit your preferences and budget, helping you plan effectively, and fast-track a Letter of Commitment for your Oncology Grant Application.
3. Speak to an expert
Request a follow-up from a Charles River oncology subject matter expert who will discuss your study needs with you in more detail and provide a tailored quote for your approval.
How the oncology preclinical study planning toolkit helps our clients
Over 1000 oncology scientists use the database each year

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the Oncology Preclinical Study Planning Toolkit
-
How many PDX, CDX, and/or cell line models are available?
1,700 PDX models are available (including pediatric PDX models via ITCC-P4 consortium and partnership models), and the Cancer Model Database has approximately 600 PDX models, 150 CDX models, 50 syngeneic models, and 500 cell line models that can be searched for by cancer type, model, or gene summaries.
-
Can I purchase a cancer model for my study?
Unfortunately, we cannot sell or provide viable PDX material due to reasons relating to patient-informed consent and contracts with our clinical cooperation partners. We can only run studies in-house on behalf of clients.
-
How can I purchase animal models to run my own study?
We have a comprehensive portfolio of research models and services that allow us to help our clients research, discover, and develop new therapies. Our Oncology experts can advise you on how to replicate the optimum conditions for running a study within your own facilities. Find out more here.
-
Which studies can I get pricing for?
The Oncology Price Estimator provides an instant price range for in vivo efficacy studies with CDX, PDX, or syngeneic models, including humanized CD34+ and PBMC. We also have price examples for in vitro efficacy, tolerability, compatibility (GvHD), and ADME/DPMK studies.
-
How will the Oncology Price Estimator help me plan my study?
You can access standard pricing or customize your study options to fit your preferences and budget and receive a PDF copy of the estimate, as well as fast-track a letter of commitment for your oncology Grant application. You will also receive scientific guidance, such as next steps, and can start a conversation with an expert to receive precise pricing, timing, and guidance.
-
What information should I gather before using the price estimator?
Helpful information to have on hand when planning your study is: number of animals, number of groups, dosing, and sampling. If you don’t have this information, you can still use the tool to access standard studies and view scientific recommendations.
