Resources for Psychiatric Disease Drug Discovery

Modeling psychiatric diseases in vivo can be complicated and a usable model of psychiatric disease should meet certain criteria –

  • Respond to treatments that are effective in humans
  • Replicates at least one symptom of human psychiatric disorders
  • Is unaffected by treatments that are ineffective in human disease
  • Be analogous to human disease etiology, behavior, neuroanatomy, neurochemistry etc.

Charles River’s portfolio of models for psychiatric disease target autism, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety. These models are validated using established endpoints.
