Animal Care Technicians and Vivarium Husbandry (Junior Level)
Experienced animal care technicians provide services within your Animal Care Facility (ACF). Services include backup personnel to support the primary technician functions and ensure sustainable coverage 365 days a year. Typical vivarium husbandry specialist services may include:
- Providing daily health observations and reporting (including holidays)
- Preparing and processing animal deliveries and other vivarium supplies
- Conducting cage changing as needed
- Facility cleaning and biohazard waste processing
- Maintaining routine documentation relevant to animal husbandry duties (room logs, feed bins, validating sterile equipment, etc.)

Research Associates or Technicians (Junior Level)
Trained research associates and technicians are available for specialized research support. Typical services include:
- Conducting daily health observations (as requested)
- Reporting of abnormalities (animal health, facility, etc.)
- Aiding with dosing procedures (IV, IM, SQ, IP, PO)
- Supporting animal surgery recovery
- Assisting with necropsy

Vivarium Director (Senior Level)
- Provides programmatic oversight for animal care and facility operations to ensure regulatory and protocol compliance
- Ensures animal welfare standards are maintained throughout the research process
- Forecasts space and equipment needs, as well as appropriate staffing levels and support programs
- Maintains AAALAC accreditation, oversees USDA and IACUC compliance, and prepares for audits and inspections
- Establishes standard operating procedures and policies to reflect best practices

A Veterinarian provides expert oversight to ensure animal health and welfare and ensures all research activities are in compliance with regulatory bodies for optimal study outcomes.
